Rural Pharmacy Liaison Officer (RPLO) Program
The Rural Pharmacy Liaison Officer (RPLO) program is an element of the Rural Support Programs funded under the Fifth Community Pharmacy Agreement. The aim of the Rural Support Programs is to maintain and improve access to quality community pharmacy services for the community in rural and remote areas of Australia and to strengthen and support the rural pharmacy workforce.
The RPLO program was established to implement local level projects that will:
- Provide support to both practicing rural community pharmacies and to pharmacy students undertaking clinical placements in rural areas;
- Promote inter-professional collaboration with pharmacies, pharmacists, pharmacy students, and other universities;
- Strengthen mentoring and advisory arrangements for pharmacies, pharmacists and pharmacy students; and
- Facilitate professional development and networking opportunities for pharmacies, pharmacists and pharmacy students.
