Rural Intern Training Allowance

The Rural Intern Training Allowance (RITA) is a new Allowance established under the Fifth Community Pharmacy Agreement. This new Allowance complements the existing CPE/Professional Development Allowance.  It  will provide financial support to assist intern pharmacists from rural and remote areas to access compulsory intern training program activities. The Allowance will be awarded to intern pharmacists only.

RITA will provide funding for at least 200 rural interns per year for a maximum of $1,500 per intern per year to enable them to defray travel and accommodation costs associated with undertaking compulsory intern training workshops, training days and examinations.

The Allowance will commence in early 2012. More information will be avaliable on this page shortly.

This Project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing as part of the Fifth Community Pharmacy Agreement
